Hi, how's that dissertation coming along? Have you read Joan Tonn's biography?--Jeff Bedolla

I am nearing the end of my dissertation. Will probably defend after the holidays. Yes I've read Follett's biography by Joan Tonn. I've used it in my dissertation research, though my research. Thanks for asking.

This was a long time ago, the conversation about your dissertation. Did you come up with anything you can share? Your profile statement is what I'm doing, too. Please tell me more about your academic interests. This would be great in a group setting. Do you think a group project process has potential?

Hi Jeff,

I completed my doctoral degree soon after our chat in 2009.  Since then I've worked on one publication on civic engaged learning and am starting a case study on economic development in communities using civic engagement and I'll use Follett's theory in the study.  I'm also developing a new master degree program in Public Policy and Administration with concentrations in Human Rights and Urban Mental Health.  It seems the Follett group will not meet this year but I believe we will come together again in 2014.  I'll try to present my work at that gathering.  Will you participate in 2014?  What is work?

Hi Valerie,

I see there's a group of scholars, and very accomplished ones. But this is still individual work not conscious collaboration. If that happened, a real meeting might make sense to me.
