Thicht Nhat Hanh on practicing community

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Z2VdRVe7-38#at=80This seems to have an intersection with the MPF discourse. It also connects through to legacy of mutualist/equitable economics. and cooperatives. There is a parallel track in the reclaiming of economic  history. There is also a legacy of the Coopeative League of the USASee More

Being In The World

I rate this video at a 9 out of 10 based upon a few missing details, which I will share later. At a general level it is excellent. It also impacts a conversation about the commons and commoning, which I can also share later. It also impacts the ideas of Hannah Arendt relative to conditioning human capacities to the possible rather in favor of conformity, to which I would suppose that MPF would concur.Being In The Worldhttps://vimeo.com/45403954See More

"Verbials tend to be a better basis for guidance than nouns. Dynamism be the thing. The expectation of lock step conformity via "progressives" is as constrictive as versions applied elsewhere. There is a fundamental issue that tends to be…"

Integrative Mediation, Restorative Justice, and MPF related Videos

All, I am casting about for sources relative to videos that can be used as educational resources covering integrative mediation. Though most application of restorative justice seem to have a strong religious basis, it seems that there is a opportunity for application of MPF's integrative mediation/problem solving. Speakers Network??

Looking for people familiar enough with MPF's writings to serve as an outside speaker. I am relatively familiar with MPF's writings, but because I am a local I will not be able to serve as a focal point for a presentation. In this case a person from the surrounding area or who might be passing through this area would probably serve best as a speaker. Columbus, Ohio.Tadit Anderson ideasinc@ee.netSee More

Dynamic Administration

I've worked through Dynamic Administration and as a book it was a bit of a mess, because apparently there was no editor at all, and obviously it was posthumous. Let me be a bit clearer, this is not due to any failing by MPF at all. It is the product of using this collection for purpose that was not intended by MPF to be published. It is a collection of short articles and lectures, that had been previously unpublished, the copyright date for its publication is 1941. Due to the lack of an editor…See More

Profile Information

What brings you to Follett?
MP Follett represents one thread representing progressive management, leadership, and organizational structures. Combined with the other threads we can weave whole cloth. I have also been recently working on an article on non-authoritarian leadership. Returning the roots words that form the word "economics," not by the implications forced upon the possibilties, the proper management of communities should be primary, not as an after .thought. Any enlargement of this specific discourse, I believe should be interpreted in the connection MPF's has with many other topic areas. I believe that she was only ahead of her own era to the extent that the discourse she was a part of was systematically suppressed. It is also interesting for me that she began in some degree as a social worker, obviously in the same mode as Jane Addams and Jane Jacobs, than much of the second level sort of social work we have come to experience as a body of institutional adaptation and conformity as it seems to prevail currently. She was very cutting edge in her own time, and unfortunately, it seems, now as well.
