MPF and contemporary non-linear facilitation practices...

A while ago, I wrote a blog post on my website, inspired by a MPF quote that Albie had posted here...Recently, as I was editing the post a bit for the purpose of greater clarity, I realized that some of what I'd written may be of interest to some folks here. Here are a few paragraphs from the opening:One of things that is most central to me about the practice of DF, is something I’ve called the "principled refusal to 'manage' convergence". As I see it, this means that the facilitator maintains a…See More

Hi Rosa,

I believe I "found" Follett, because I needed her--her wisdom, her point of view informed by her gender, and so much more. Yet, like you, most of my experience came before the theory. More on that later.

I just wanted to say hello and also say that I too found, when working the the court system with many "appointed for life leaders" in a rigid bureaucracy, it was always important to "validate" the perspective of the judges and clerks who felt they already "did" mediation and then slowly and together differentiate the ways that mediation without the "power of the robe or office" could accomplish outcomes in a way not possible under typical court rules and culture. I'm saying this awkwardly, but hope you get the gist. Thanks, Albie Davis
